Experiencing Gratitude

Giving their attention to the ego, they focus on what is missing in their life, rather than on what they have been given to enjoy. Doing the Will of God and Not Your Own

By turning our will and lives over to a God of our own understanding we improve our self esteem, let go of what we can’t control, become less willful and develop the ability to become humble. While Step Two is a realization that only a power greater then ourselves can help return us to a sane way of living, Step Three of the 12-Step program is the point where I make the decision to turn my will and life over to God, whatever my perception or concept of God may be.

Life and After Life

Lately because of so many celebrities passing away, such as Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, to name a few, I have been asked many questions about life and death. Death is a universal experience. No one can hope to escape it. It is only a matter of time till it comes to each one of us and those we love. Most death beds are peaceful when the time comes and few go out struggling.

Lighten Up – Don’t Take Life Too Seriously

I am sure you have heard this statement many times, but like most people you take these common statements for what they are at face value and never try to dissect them to see if there is any validity hidden within, and in this case, of course there is. I do want to assure you that I am not on a crusade to push the theory of reincarnation on you if you are not ready to understand, and in fact, until you are ready, you will never understand.

God has the power not to only change impossibility to possibility but also bring out something from nothing. He works most often in impossibility to show man the riches of His power and glory. His ways are fearful. People tend to appreciate God more when things they thought are ever permanent are changed by God in the twinkling of an eye.

Faith is Paradoxical – It Doesn’t Seem to Make Sense

Those who were leading this procession gave the blind man a row. “Be quiet. Sh! Sh! Don’t make such a noise.” Were they embarrassed? Were they annoyed? Bartimaeus was crying out for mercy, and they were saying “Sh! Sh!” He shouted all the louder. He was blind! His sight depended upon his meeting Jesus – Jesus Christ, the King. How great is your need at times? What do you really need from Jesus? Is there something that only Jesus Christ can give? Is there something that you need to meet Jesus about? Kingdom power flowed. Kingdom sight was given. Kingdom discipleship resulted.
