Meditation is often mentioned but not often understood. This is a spontaneous evocation of meditation from reflections and metaphors, to try to tease out a taste of how you might grow more deeply into it.

We’re told to pray, not worry. Petitioning God with our pleas, in the underpinning mood of thanksgiving, we don’t leave ourselves wondering, for God already knows what we want from what we need (Matthew 6:8). Making our thoughts known to ourselves, by speaking them aloud, we allow the Lord to speak into our hearts and minds. He serenades us with the truth about ourselves.

What is silence really? Is the silence we seek in life merely acoustic, or does it have other dimensions? Is there a way to describe the quality of silence in scientific language?

For some who listen to old school music there used to be a song which went…War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. To the contrary war is good for you. There is no victory without a battle, no triumph without trouble. Conflict is sometimes necessary to resolve issues because what you are not willing to confront you cannot solve. David says He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me a shield of victory; you stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me so that my feet do not turn (2 Samuel 22verse 35 -37).

Green is such an emotive colour it is political, ecological, suggests that someone is very new to something, and also that things might be better somewhere else as in ‘the grass being greener on the other side’. The colour green relates to the heart chakra which is the fourth main chakra; the area where we feel love and compassion and also ‘heartache’. On a spiritual level it is where the ego connects with the higher self and we start to learn about unconditional love; that which is given freely without any expectations. The shape given to each colour correspond with the type of energy at work in the chakra it supports. Green is represented as a circle because it demonstrates balance and its energies are equal male and female.

Reality is one. With that, I begin this message.

Sin is not a very acceptable word in today’s society. And yet, it is very prevalent and so are its results and wages. Many people do not like the word, SIN. They prefer to call it, ‘my problem’, or, ‘my addiction’. But, regardless of how we may attempt to term it, sin remains sin and its consequences remain deadly. According to the Bible, sin is disobedience to Almighty God and His Word.

Ever wondered why the Christian church is divided into so many factions, or denominations as they are called? Is this really what Jesus had in mind when He said, “I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”? (Matt.16:18b) The governing reason may surprise you!

The 3 major signs of spiritual awakening are feelings that more and more people feel every day, to the extent that they have become a hallmark of our modern lives. Our personal signs of spiritual awakening reflect and are a small part of the spiritual awakening of humanity as a whole.

What is all this 2012 stuff about anyway? Did you hear that we are entering into a New Renaissance?

Enlightenment is something that ‘new age’ people yearn for and ‘normal’ people laugh at…while ‘ascension’ has the religious people enraptured, the ‘new age’ people nodding wisely and the ‘normal’ people hoping they haven’t made a mistake that will result in them being left behind. As 2012 nears and dire predictions of planet-wide catastrophe are bandied about over the air waves, populations wonder what will happen-if anything.

The power of prayer is indeed amazing, because its effect can occur any place in the world. Prayer is really man joining forces with the Divine. It is the limited teaming up with Omnipotence to get a job done. God and man working together is indeed an unstoppable force. Prayer is not just asking God to meet our needs. It is that, but so much more. Prayer is also seeking the Face of Almighty God to help another or others for whom we are concerned. Then again, prayer is working with God, praying out His plans and purposes into the earth, so that His Will would be done.
