“Busy” is one of those words I’d like to see obliterated from the English language. How often have I found myself saying, “I’ve been meaning to call you but I’m so BUSY!” How rude of me, because what I’m really saying is, “I’m too busy for YOU!” If someone were to call me and say, “I’d like to give you a cheque so that your church can fix its roof!” – you can be sure I’d find generous amounts of time.

There is no doubt the global financial crisis will make 2009 a hard year for many. Yet, despite all this, perhaps the downturn may cause us to reflect on more meaningful matters such as the true purpose of our life in the material world.
