The 5 Precepts of Reiki
A review and revision of the 5 major precepts of Reiki as taught by Reiki Masters. The original precepts and my version of the precepts is discussed.
Patience – A Virtue We Can Always Choose in Every CircumstanceGod uses life circumstances to develop our patience. We do not always choose the circumstances that come our way, but we do choose the way we respond to them.
How do you stand persecution? How can you express compassion to someone who insult you, degrade you, malign you and hurt you deeply? Can you really love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you?
The Simple Act of RepentanceRepentance is truly healing–it’s committing to actively turning away from one damaging direction or action toward another more appropriate one–a turning toward God. It can also mean to adjust our tack slightly so as not to ‘miss the mark’ in future.
Do Universities Help Cultivate Wisdom in Human Beings? After getting accepted to Harvard University, I thought I would be receiving the best possible education that life has to offer. I was under the impression that the insights, teachings and wisdom that was shared there would provide me with inspiration for living and creating a well- rounded and balanced life. However, I soon realized that this was far from being true.
The “Earthly Reason” – A Call to Action From a Secular PerspectiveWhat we seek in our society most often is not the truth, but justification. You seek to justify your lifestyle, your actions, and your thoughts. You don’t want to hear anything that might contradict your life, but only those things that support it. Most of us, including you, usually become very offended, angry, and sometimes very vocal if we hear, see or read anything that speaks against or even questions our life or actions. Somehow we have the false belief that we already know what is right or wrong based on our life experiences and teachings that we have somehow ascertained the truth, therefore anything that challenges that thought pattern upsets us.
Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.
Today is a Bumpy Road, But You Are the Navigator! Know Where You’re Going, Then Get There!Probably 100% of us are not truly 100% content with every area of our life. Although it is not possible to change your circumstances overnight, it IS possible to change your direction overnight. If you don’t change what you are doing today, all of your tomorrows will look like yesterday.
The Ultimate Rules For a Blissful LifeIn essence calling a penalty on yourself is the definition of true nobility because it’s not about being better than anyone else; it’s about being better than you use to be. You are not dominated by your ego’s demands to accomplish and triumph.
Stand Up and Be CountedDiscovering your individual perfection can be the first step towards personal and global change. Stand up for yourself, speak out and make a difference.
The Benefit PackageWhen God or the Universal Spirit is your boss, your life changes. If you’ve wondered what God’s benefits package is, here are one person’s experiences with them.
Spirit Set Free – Two Steps Toward Better Spiritual and Thus Physical CommunicationSometimes communication is not based upon just the material things in life, but also, and actually I think more often, upon the spiritual basis for our thinking. If we assume that everyone is supposed to think and process information in the exact same way, spiritually, we are headed for communication problems, and thus operational problems. We will also stunt our own growth. There are however, some simple things to consider when looking at trying to understand and be understood by another human being – actually another spirit being in a human form. Paying attention to these things will improve what comes into our ears and goes out of our mouths! Most of us could use a good dose of that more often than not. I know this from firsthand experience, I must say.
