The temptation to speak our mind presents itself to us every day. We have opinions, and many of us have very strong opinions of what is right and what is wrong; what is good and what is bad; and what should and what should not be done. Our inner thermostat registers white-hot sometimes when we see the speech and actions of others. We long to put in our two cents worth. We want to set them straight!

I believe that Satan has done an extraordinary job at entangling our understanding of the power of the cross, and his schemes make Jesus appear like a wimp, even effeminate to the eyes of the world. It is no wonder that so many people, even church leaders fall pray of the seductions of the world, even to the point of rejecting salvation for the sake of momentary pleasures, powers or financial gain.

The Different Values Of East And West

Being a mix of cultures, parents from India and Middle East, while being born in Montreal myself, and having lived in various countries for the past 20 years, I see the world split in two cultures or mentalities, East and West. Today, I am in Cambodia, and have observed the different people, locals in the streets, and tourists in the hotel. I am a very friendly person, and since I am alone I like to approach people because, for me, people are very valuable and interesting to talk to so I learn and grow more each day.

A person who hears the Word, but refuses or neglects to act upon the written Word of God deceives himself or herself. This is what the scared Scriptures teach. It is the doer of the Word who is blessed in his or her deeds. To simply read the Bible is not sufficient. We must learn to practice the Word of God. Growing in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ takes diligent time and effort on our part. Granted that God has sent His Holy Spirit to help us live this life, there is a part we must do, a responsibility we must bear and a role we must play in our spiritual growth and development. The Word works. If we apply ourselves and do what the Holy Bible, God’s Word, tells us to do, surely we shall receive what God has promised that we will receive. To hear the Word and not do it will not profit us.

Spiritual communication with Almighty God is very important. It is vital for the individual who desires a real, rich and abiding relationship with God. As the written word of God, The Holy Bible, is God speaking to man, even so, prayer is man speaking to God. Many people do not make time to pray. They are too busy with their personal goals and agendas. They are surrounded by their own dreams and ambitions. Prayer is only used when they face a challenge which they cannot handle on their own. Prayer then becomes a way of escape, rather than fellowship and communion with the Most Holy God. As the children of God, we should find a delight in making time to communicate with our Heavenly Father. We can be as close to God as we desire to be. His Word declares that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. How close do you want to be to God? How much do you really desire to know Him? Then draw near, child of God. The choice is really yours.
