In the book of revelation, emphasis was laid on people standing before their creator at the last day i.e. on the judgment day. These people that are standing are of different categories. Some are standing courageously before God having kept the faith and finished strong and others are standing trembling with fear. Revelation 14: 1-end gives in-depth knowledge on the topic, “Who Shall Stand?”

There are times in life that we need to be strong. It is important to note that in life, there are challenges and no matter what you do, at one point in time or another, you will have to deal with a certain challenge. Challenges come in different forms and at different times, and because they are usually unwanted, the word “storm” is commonly used to describe how terrifying these challenges could be.

The old man at the baseball game sat in his usual seat in the bleachers. The chair he sat in was propped up for his comfort. He’d been coming to the game as long as the oldest person remembers, and even they were children when they first encountered him. So in essence no one really knows his age. Many people say even he didn’t know his correct age, but that’s hard to believe with all the wisdom that glows all around him.

We seem to live in a very “me” driven society today. People go through life focusing on their own goals and ambitions so much that we often forget what life is truly about. Our selfish needs and desires blind us to the purpose we serve as Christians and human beings. The following is a fictional story I wrote some years ago. My hope is that it will serve as a reminder to all of us what is truly important in how we lead our lives.

We have talked a lot about what we think of God, but what does God think about us? What does he think about you? Maybe I should phrase it, how does God think of us? You may even wonder if God thinks about us at all.

A real Guru is not someone who is nice to us. He might do that in the beginning to train us and prepare us. But a real Guru is someone who challenges us, pushes us, tells us ugly and nasty things, and tells us things about ourselves that are both true and untrue. When we are challenged, we will see where our mind is.

We are living in a culture that is experiencing change at light speed. New technologies move from experimental to commonplace in a matter of months. Mobile phones went from the size of shoe boxes that had to be plugged into car cigarette lighters to devices the size of a tube of lipstick with rechargeable batteries in only a few years. Changes this significant that happen this fast can’t help but have a huge impact on our society. If they are having a strong effect on our culture, shouldn’t they have an equally strong effect on the church?

Our constant meditation during this lifetime influences our thoughts at the moment of death. In present life we therefore create our next life. We carry our different conceptions of life from one body to another as the air carries aromas. Thus we take one kind of body and again quit it to take another.

In Matthew 22: 36 we read of Jesus being asked by a Jewish expert of the Law in His day ‘Master, which is the great commandment in the Law?’ to which Jesus answered, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment’ (vss. 37 and 38). Jesus here taught that the greatest of all the commandments is to love the Lord.

I don’t believe that the world will end on this date, but I do believe that the world is changing, and it’s changing right here, right now. We’re not powerless to alter what’s happening around us and in the world.

Faith is an attitude towards life that allows us to consciously awaken to the realization that everything we desire in our life already exists in the here and now. It is faith that opens the door for us to experience everything we desire and it is our consciousness that allows us to step through that door. Understanding the Laws of the Universe and how to apply them to get the results you desire is the quickest way to increase your faith and raise your consciousness.
