What Does It Mean to Be Irish?
I’ve studied Celtic Spirituality for sixteen years, and every St. Patrick’s Day I find myself pondering my “Celtic mutt” heritage (Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English, & the black forest region of Germany) and asking: what does it really mean to be a Celt? What does it mean to be Irish? There are many ways to answer this question. For me, one of the most profound aspects of Irish and Celtic cosmology is the awareness that the Otherworld is not some far away place. It is right here. Accessible to us in every breath.
Throughout the Bible, we find the Father being the source of everything. There is no inner healing without the father. This we see in many Bible stories such as in the story of Joseph, the prodigal son, Elijah & Elisha and others. Jesus had his eyes fixed on the Father and did only what he saw the Father doing. The father is the source of everything. In ministry, we get caught up in all the church work and commotion. So many have a great desire to serve the Lord and are willing to sacrifice everything they have. We are all waiting to be sent, to be released in order to bear fruit. We want to see people saved, lives changed and the Gospel preached in all nations but we sometimes forget one very important thing: the love of the Father.
Angels – Mihr: Angel of Friendship and LoveRelationships are easily and not easily maintained. Honoring yourself is paramount when establishing, maintaining, nurturing connections with others to include you. Are you willing to support another’s dream as if it were your own without judgment, without condemnation?
How Easy Is It on the Spiritual Journey To Be Seduced By Eloquence? What is authentic spirituality about? Our hearts, or our words and the power to use them persuasively? The ability to express religious thoughts and ideas is of course important. But what of the inarticulate? What about those who stumble over words and can only express themselves clumsily?
Who Else Wants To Save The World?Have you ever imagined yourself doing those heroic things in your life that literally reshape the world as we know it – you overcome your personal demons, overcome poverty and oppression and lead your generation into a new world of freedom, enlightenment and justice for all? Ok, well maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but at least you’ve dreamt about doing a tiny little part of that on some level, haven’t you? Look, even Jesus wasn’t able to manage saving the world and creating justice for all, but before I take away your inspiration I would just like…
Great dangers are confronting our world at this time and one of these dangers is compromising the truth of the whole Word of God. This can take various forms. This dear man had a concern and compassion towards those who had come to real faith in Jesus Christ. Paul recognised his enemy. That same enemy opposes men and God and the work of God in these present days and it is sheer deception to ignore and overlook this possibility. Paul writes that he wanted to come to them on various occasions, but Satan hindered us. He stopped us and prevented us and hindered us. It is the word for breaking up a road to render it impassable. “Out of sight – out of mind” is a popular proverb, but that was not true as far as Paul was concerned. These men and women in Thessalonica were near to his heart even though miles separated them.
