How to Ensure You’re Not Quitting Too Soon

Moving onward to our higher purpose takes a bit of weeding. Before we can grow new flowers we must remove the weeds and nourish the soil. If beliefs are limiting us, we must then examine what they are and whether or not they serve us. Are we living to our highest potential? What’s stopping us? Let’s peel back that onion and see what’s at the core of our limitations.

Spiritual maturity or what I have come to call “self-actualization” calls us to claim our life and in effect let go entirely of what we want. Said differently, if we choose to grow into our “self” – life truly becomes more about tuning in and listening, while ultimately letting go of our own agenda. As a spiritual seeker, I used to think we had some kind of say in the course for our lives. Now I would amend this thought. Although I do believe we are part of our co-creation with the divine, I now recognize that our outward life reflects only the life we live within. To let go of expectation and claim the life that is ours then, we must hold fast to the divine within and follow its light to show us the way. As I see it, for true spiritual seekers, you will need to know three “rites of passage” on your journey. I call these steps: Embracing Choice, Embracing Necessity and Surrendering to Divine Intention.

For a great amount of us, a search for meaning is sought in conjunction with our greater purpose or what I have come to call “self-actualization.” Speaking for myself, I’m always searching for my highest purpose, the reason for my being here. If this personal journey can be navigated, I often theorize, why would we not follow its call? The answer (in my opinion) is, to dig deeper requires one to let go of their fear of the unknown. This is not easy work. If your true quest is to find this higher sense of self-actualization there are ways to invoke divine guidance and overcome any obstacles that stand in your way. Here’s three of my favorite ways to stay on the path to enlightenment:

There is an open Door that leads into the Heavenly Throne Room. This is the place where the Archangels constantly minister before the Almighty God who sits on the Throne. The Lamb has made it possible to enter not only in some future day, but now through that Door. We can come boldly before that Throne and find mercy and grace. This includes the practical things we need in todays world. Many today are accessing the realms of Eternal God through the Prophetic Portal. How about you? Do you want to learn how to fly?

After great expectations and all my efforts, I had arrived at a point when I had grave doubts about the course my life was taking. I felt completely at a loss. I decided to ask why, then be still, and listen within. It was my wild hope that I could do what others had claimed to do — actually have a conversation with God! I received some surprising answers. I discovered how my thinking was holding me back.

In my Mens Bible Study this week, I was reminded of the depth of spiritual friendship, witnessing David and Jonathan. In Sunday School Summer Boot Camp I took a course in which 12 virtual strangers were invited to pair up to be spiritual friends. It was a good experience and I met a wonderful new friend.

There are occasions and circumstances in life when we receive the most amazing privileges. This is an astonishing privilege for a prisoner. What are you doing with all the privileges and opportunities which Almighty God is offering you?

Intuition is a profound gift which connects our embodied physical self with our divine spiritual essence. The soul can communicate with our embodied self through this line of light, and we can develop this inner connection over time through meditation, prayer, and the desire to know ourselves more deeply. Intuition can be of great benefit at all times in our lives, and especially during times of great stress or difficulty.

A heart that longs for love, and that longs to find the way home to God, opens a pathway of light from the human, embodied self to the soul that exists eternally in the realms of spirit. Spiritual longing not only activates spiritual growth and transformation, but also activates the healing of any and all inner blockages to love that may exist within your being. At some point on the spiritual journey, we are led to the path of forgiveness.
