One of my favorite Bible verses is in Habakkuk, “Write my answer on a billboard, large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell the others.” As a young girl, I loved to work with words and tell stories, and I had given my life to Jesus to be his servant in any way. I truthfully had thought God would put the two together.

The Lord Jesus made it clear that it’s not how much you receive and amass that measures your value. Rather, you measure your value or worth by how much you give. No wonder the apostle Paul, reiterating the words of the Master declared that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:23). As far as God is concerned, the one who gives is greater than the one who receives. Thus, it’s not how much you have in your bank account that determines your worth financially; rather, it’s how much you give.

After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. And Job spake, and said, let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, there is a man child conceived. Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it (Job 3:1-4).

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (Joshua 1:8) Dr. David Yonggi Cho once told a story about how as a young preacher he tried to spice up his sermons with philosophy to show the people how learned he was.

God created Lucifer, now known as Satan, as one of the three top angels in Heaven. Lucifer had responsibility for the angels assigned to worship, while Michael leads the warrior angels who oppose evil and unrighteousness, and Gabriel guides the angels assigned to bring God’s messages to people. As part of his creation, God gave angels a certain amount of free will.

In our fight of faith, the Bible says that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). That’s why we are then enjoined to put on the whole armor of God. Now, did you notice the scripture doesn’t say, “Pray that God would put the armor on you”? it says you’re the one to put it on. So, it’s no use praying and crying to God to protect you from the wiles of the devil; he has told you what to do: put on the armor of God.

When you’re conscious of God’s divine presence with you, your life will be an unending stream of the miraculous. Dr. Daisy Osborn used do the same. Practicing the presence of God means living your life with the consciousness that God lives in you, and alone in this world; there’s nobody to help me” should be completely banished from your life. Rather, you say, “The Lord is with me always”.

The living Bible translation renders the opening scripture this way: “However, Christ has given each of us special abilities; whatever He wants us to have out of his rich storehouse of gifts”. I like that term, special abilities, “for it lets us know that there’s not a single one of God’s children that is lacking in ability. You may never have thought about the fact that God has given you special abilities, but let it dawn on you today that there are special abilities in you which came into your life when you were born again and received the Holy spirit.

Filters are designed to allow only the desirable parts of a solution or mixture pass through, while the undesirable part is caught and held back, to be discarded. That’s the idea communicated to us by the spirit of God in our opening scripture. Your mind is the door to your human spirit and whatever words and thoughts you allow to go through your mind unchecked will be deposited in your spirit. That’s why you have to screen and filter what goes through the door of your heart.

The most sublime and profound communication ever to proceed from anyone came from the lips of Jesus. The Jesus in his day could not comprehend the wisdom and audacity with which the Master spoke. That’s because Jesus communicated with a spiritual language while they were men and women of he senses. For example, when he said in the scripture above, “… I am from above,” he wasn’t referring to a physical life. He was referring to a spiritual life!

For all creation, gazing early as if with outstretched neck, is waiting and longing to seethe manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19) When God created the world, everything he made was good, and he gave man dominion over his creation. But when sin entered the world through Adam’s transgression, death also came in and from that point on, everything in the world became subject to decay and regression. That’s why today, everything that exists in the world, living and non-living is crying out for liberation.
