Consider this statement by author, Anais Nin: “We don’t see things as they are. We see things as we are.” Life is our mirror. It reflects back to us beliefs and ideas in our minds that we either refuse to acknowledge or cannot identify.

When God created the universe be it the spiritual or earthly realm, He gave us the freedom to choose between right and wrong. We would not have character if every act and choice is forced. A choice or act that is forced has no moral value or quality whatsoever.

A baby learns to sit first before he starts to stand and walk. The Christian life also begins with sitting.

Higher states of consciousness or mind or awareness is one of the most intriguing and interested topics. We might think that the topics don’t belong to our usual life – family, work and society. We are wrong. The spiritual life is not exclusive of the material and emotional world and work life, it includes all of them and beyond them. Exploring them makes us more enjoying, fulfilling, efficient and successful.

What is this illusive thing that people go looking for called Spirituality? By our very nature we are already spiritual and everything that we do is spiritual; we do not have to go looking for it.

Recently I decided I need to bring spirituality into my life in a more proactive way again. Once I set this intent, unsurprisingly, synchronicity began to take place. (It always does surprise me though).

Recently I read one of Anita Rau Badami’s novels, set both in India and Vancouver, BC. In the book she writes a passage about Indra, the Goddess of Heaven. In it Badami describes how Indra flung a net over the world.

With so much trouble in the world, it is easy to get trapped in a spiral of worry and fear. But the Bible teaches us not to worry, instead we are to put our Faith in the Lord.
