In the first verse of the Book of Romans Paul clarifies his position in relation to Jesus. He is a servant of the son of God, called and set apart to serve. In the first two lines of verse 1 we are given the coordinates by which we can locate the correct attitude of faith: one, as servant; two, as being set apart; three, as having been called. While it is impossible to say whether all Christians are denoted by these three coordinates – to serve, to be set apart and to be called – it is clear from simple testimony that many are.
