DISCIPLESHIP – a much confused word – is confused in this statement of Jesus’, surely? For, discipleship is as much, and more, about progress in the Christian life as it is about perfection. But there is one perfection that Jesus has in sight in this teaching.

The birth of this lifetime was not the first one. As a matter of fact, we have had millions upon millions of births in the past. “Yes”, there may be no way to prove it with our scientific methods. There are records of people having been regressed through hypnosis into number of their past lives.

This is important because I have met many who have searched for that spirituality which satisfies and which lasts and endures and some have never found and discovered it. Your quest and search can be over soon! How committed are you to that which is genuinely spiritual and realistically religious? And, to what are you committed, and to what have you committed your life? Once we resolve the answers to these questions the rest of life can become simpler although never losing its challenge.

Do you need healing? Do you need forgiveness? Then I point you to Jesus Christ, who said, “Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing!” You could read this article today and go out, knowing that every barrier between you and God has been broken down, and that every barrier between you and some long lost friend can be broken down. Blessing lights up man’s whole experience with joy and peace and courage and serenity. You may know deep down that God has something more for you, and you know it is there awaiting you, and as you join in singing the Psalms and the hymns and the spiritual songs, you are aware that there is something more because these create a thirst and longing for what Paul is speaking about here. Many battle with this for years. It was in 1969 when I had my fiercest battle over this. Paul knew the fullness of the blessing of God and he would have every believer in Jesus experience and enjoy that fullness.

I was a Christian for years before I ever found my life. I was saved and on my way to heaven but I had no clue what my life was all about, because it was all hidden, and I had to find it. Your life is hidden and you have to find it, and the way to find it is found in Colossians 3:1-3, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.

Spirituality is a word that we can be afraid of yet it is the very element that will make our lives much better. It is about exploring ourselves on a deeper level without having to tie ourselves to beliefs.

We all know that being compassionate should be the norm all year – and some people are. However, acts of kindness tend to increase and be more emphasized during this time of year. So, what hinders this level of compassion throughout the year?

We cannot say we love. We must do it. Love only has value from the viewpoint of the other’s viewpoint. Another person is not our neighbour; we are theirs! Love begins with us. And, so far as the Lord Jesus is concerned, best we never insist our neighbour love us. The obligation of love as an enunciation of obedience is to be the neighbour.

Why do you fear or serve God? Do you serve Him for nothing? Service is an important aspect of a believing Christian’s walk with God. The scriptures teach us to serve God, but the question is, “what is the main motive behind the service?” The true answer to this question determines how God will respond to your service and this article helps you to answer correctly.
