If ever you find yourself in need of a “Spiritual Refreshening,” I recommend taking a little extra time to read and absorb the delightful Book of I Thessalonians. It is Paul’s first letter to the Church at Thessalonica. Here Paul does not delve into the depths or complexities of theology. He shares his disappointments, yet focuses on his joy, thankfulness and gratitude. He candidly resonates and delicately expounds on the basic principles of TRUTH.

Okay, before we get into the news of the day, I want to take another look at our verse of the week. It comes from Acts 6:4…”But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” Rather simply, we are called to keep in contact with the Lord both through our prayer time as well as our Bible reading and study time.

One must remain watchful and prayerful. Life will allow many thorns and thistles in order to derail the child of God. That narrow road often appears to take the form of a roller coaster? For some taking a detour onto wide road traveling becomes an alternate route. Regardless as to what is going on about us we must strive to sincerely live each day keeping in mind that Jesus is going to return for His Church.

Intimacy with God should be a desired destination. Intimately knowing God not only for what He has done; but for whom He truly is and what He will do makes all the difference in the world. It gives you a personal endearing relationship that is encompassed with spiritual depth. Intimacy really can be quite liberating. God knows what is beyond the surface. Have you ever noticed right before you attend a “worship service” you can find a level of anxious banter; everyone in their little cluster groups chit chatting about some of everything? Once the service begins, it’s as almost, as though all of that joy is hushed?

When we choose to sin there are consequences. Salvation does not exempt us from the consequences of sin. The law of sowing and reaping is true. You do reap what you sow. Begin to sow seeds of righteousness before your sin harvest overtakes you. The world embraces sin. It continues to lure the believer to think that walking the broad road is safe. God does love us unconditionally but He allows us to be impacted by sin. The world is currently experiencing the consequences of sin.

Have you ever felt that no matter how hard you tried to explain something no one would understand? Have you ever felt so discouraged that you felt as though the weights of the world were upon your shoulders?

God will never direct you to do anything that goes against His principles. But how would you really know this if you do not study His Word? Someone else could have told you this; but it’s not the same. It is vital to know the Lord and His Word firsthand. Making a decision to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is the most important thing that you can do in life. This is the first step in your ongoing process of spiritual growth and development.

God tells us not to be anxious for anything? This does not mean that you can not get excited. But if you continue to worry why pray? If you are still heavy laden. Guess who is carrying your burden? You are. “Oh ye of little faith.” Yes, God wants you to be concerned. But first He wants us “to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.” So if you are feeling anxious. It means that it is important to check yourself. Check yourself by what someone thinks about you? By what someone says about you or by whatever? Of course not!

So you’re going along, living life, and suddenly something out of the blue happens to you…you get your car stolen, you lose your job, your wife or husband has a car accident, your best friend just dumps you, or your wife or husband dumps you. Not ALL bad things that happen to us are bad karma, but certainly at least 50% of them are. What do I mean by that?

Understanding the difference between worry and love is a Spiritual Tool that we should all be aware of. This article not only discusses the difference, but provides an experiential tool that we can all use to infuse our worries with the Power of Love.

There is no easy way to define ‘Enlightenment’ because there are many definitions. For me personally, Enlightenment is simply an awareness of your own natural state of being. It’s a state of realizing what you truly are in the present moment; without referring to your past and worrying about what you will become in the future.

A lot of definitions have been given to the word- grace and I am sure you must have listened to a lot of teachings on this great topic. Sometimes ago, after deep meditation I was made to define the word- grace as “It was the process taken away man’s ability and replacing it with God’s ability.
