If we believed everything we watched on TV or in the magazines that call to us at the Supermarket check-out, our treasure would lie in eternal youth, shiny bright perfection, a job to die for, a bulging diary of fabulous people and events, always happiness. What are we when you take away our Must Dos and our Must Haves? What are we actually about?

Dating and modern relationships have always found themselves on rocky grounds when it comes to the Bible and Christian views. Let’s face it, Christians- in fact, the majority of Christians don’t necessarily follow the Biblical ways of dating and forming a relationship with the opposite sex.

You don’t need to look further than your TV screen, a book, a magazine or the internet to see or read something that has a strong implication towards casual sex. It’s the truth of modern society: casual sex is so prevalent as if people no longer have any regard for the Christian values of abstinence and waiting until your wedding night.

I was inclined to wonder what makes people choose the religion(s) they choose. From all my analysis, I see influence from family tradition (and all the factors pertaining to a family’s beliefs), influence from mates (life-partners), and most other times influence from someone seeking salvation from his or her attained misery fleeing to the first truly accepting congregation of people (organized religion is of what I speak of in these scenarios). I have been led to a beautiful life but it took taking a journey to the unknown to realize it was there for me all along. In taking this journey to self-discovery, I found the joy and goodness I always yearned to have. It had not always been so clear to me.
