The vulnerability of being criticized for the work you do. It can knock you from your feet. You are left wondering where it came from. It is completely unavoidable as a pastor, a person whose role it is to lead and advise a group of people who come from many different backgrounds.

You have chosen a career that puts you literally on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your job is not structured in the typical hours of 8-5 Monday through Friday, but can be at any hour on any day of the year. Each team member has brought a skill to the table, but few have an understanding of working on a team. Stress can impact your mental and physical health. It is unavoidable in everyday life. Responded to stress in a positive way can move you forward or in a new direction. If you react negatively to stress, it can create anxiety, fear, distrust, and cause you to stay stuck or make a decision that will cause you not to perform to your full potential. You find you have frequent headaches, insomnia, stomachaches, or high blood pressure. There are ways to dealing with stress in a positive way.
