I have a very strong belief that animal totems not only exist, but help teach us and guide us as we go through life. Today I share my latest experience.

Although change is scary, it’s inevitable and meant to help us grow and prosper. With the help of your angels and a few easy exercises you can not only learn now to overcome the anxieties associated with change but you’ll actually learn to embrace it!

I spent time reflecting on the following passage from Chapter 9, Section II, Paragraph 5 of the Text of A Course in Miracles this week: The message your brother gives you is up to you. What does he say to you? What would you have him say? Your decision about him determines the message you receive. The message my brother gives me is up to me? My decision about him determines the message I receive? I knew the truth in these words as soon as I read them, and I realized that knowing their truth placed responsibility on me for embodying this truth in my life.

Remember the day, the day God gave you what you don’t deserve? Your salvation in Jesus Christ. Until then we got what we deserved; in our sin we were rewarded, but it wasn’t a reward we saw in the way we should have seen it, for the reward was a wage and that wage amounted to death.

In this second article in the series on the “miracle” and the “mind,” we’re going to continue our discussion of spiritual specialness as someone being chosen by God to do His work without recognizing it is really the ego. In A Course in Miracles (ACIM), many link being a Course teacher of God with being miracle-minded just as we see in many religions with chosen spiritual leaders such as a pastors, ministers and priests, etc. In the first article on spiritual specialness, we incorporated a quote by Kenneth Wapnick that, “Love is quiet and need not make assertions.” Being someone chosen by God to do “god’s work” is an assertion of the ego; and it makes the error real. It is a defense against God’s Love wherein we don’t recognize that we’re actually competing with God (and thus everyone).

The hope of glory, is an expression found in the Bible, in chapter 1 and verse 27 of the book of Colossians which highlights a reality which takes a hold of every Christian believer, and which Paul of tarsus, the writer of the book calls a mystery. A mystery which was not revealed before the fullness of times had come, That is, the ministry, death and resurrection of the Hope of glory, the Lord Jesus Christ.

REALISM is the kicker of life. We really must laugh at that. We rail against the world when we are having a bad day, and, guess what, we might as well laugh. The reality is God owns the rules. It does us no good whatsoever to protest. We might as well say, “Okay, God, have it your way,” because he will. Always has. Always will.

POSTMODERNISM and this intelligent age have a great deal to answer for. Suddenly we expect a voice in a life. We expect more from life – for instance, freedom – nowadays, because we live a comfortable existence compared with yesteryear. These days we, as a people in a very comfy society, don’t want to be slaves; and still less to righteousness – to be enslaved to do good.

FAITH first, obedience second, faith third… and so on. Faith is possible only through obedience. Obedience is possible only through faith. Faith and obedience are intrinsically interdependent.
