Faith is giving you permission to dream, to imagine, to love, to achieve, to be sure that you will be good even in the toughest time. When you have faith everything looks easier and nothing is impossible.

How often are we disappointed by the repeated indiscretions of those offending us? Or more simply put, as far as it relates to us offending others, how many second chances do we deserve in correcting the offending behaviour?

We waste a lot of time and energy trying to conform to the expectations of others. Our desire to meet someone else’s standards imprisons and diminishes us in a number of ways ways.

With the number of churches available worldwide it is often difficult to decide upon which one to attend on a regular basis. Having a good experience in one church may strengthen our faith and make us come closer to God. On the other hand a bad experience in another church could weaken our faith altogether and push us away from God.

Recently, Bill Gates was on his visit to one of India’s poorest State, Bihar where he is planning to adopt eight villages. The television channels were showing the images the wealthy Bill visiting the poorest part of the world with a desire to donate part of his fortune.

Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, severe storms, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes – we are experiencing more and more natural disasters at much greater intensities. A large part of the reason this is happening is because the elementals (nature spirits) are heavily overburdened! Most people are totally unaware of elementals, what they do and the fact that without them, the earth would be uninhabitable and we would not exist here! They have worked heroically day after day for centuries to clean up the earth, the air and the water on our planet.

Many spiritual traditions, like Buddhism, tell us pain and suffering – mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and psychological – arise from attachment and aversions. One of the ego’s main beliefs is that we are separate from everyone else. The ego lives from a zero-sum, survival-of-the-fittest perspective. So, to survive, our ego is driven to nurture more and more attachments (and aversions) to people, places, things, possessions, ideas, beliefs, relationships and the like.

Once I was weak, now I am strong. Once I was afraid, now I am bold. Once I was unreliable, now, people can depend upon me. Once I was blind, now I see. Jesus is always concerned about some deeper than physical sight. Jesus is always concerned about something more.

In psychology terms, the Just Noticeable Difference (JND) is the human measure of sensory perception that is just able to detect stimuli in its environment. In layperson terms it’s what we detect when something captures the attention of our senses. This has an important application to spirituality.

In the book “The God part of the Brain” the author offers a quote by Freud: “God is the exalted father, and the longing for the father is the root of all religion.” But recently there seems to be a move toward a more feminine version of God.
