Sacred Space can be inside of you, that place where you go to receive insight or answers or to meditate. It can also be a physical place in your home, office, yard, or anywhere you wish to create a sacred place.

Often, we confuse inspiration with motivation, when they are in fact very different things. Inspiration occurs on a higher, internal level, while motivation is the rationale for our behavior. Inspiration affects your emotions and your intellect. It is often a divinely spiritual influence that causes wonderful things to happen and life-changing situations to occur.

How often do you integrate what inspires you and what you consider to be in spirit or spiritual into your daily life? If you’re like most people, you probably answered, “not very often.” Can you even imagine how your life and work would be different, how our world would be different if Spirit was part of everything we did?

David sought the Lord for the work of His lovingkindness, from morning time on through the day. “Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust.” As the Lord poured out His loyal, steadfast love, David gave glory to the Lord among His people. “I have not concealed Your lovingkindness . . . from the great congregation” (Psalm 40:10).

Our Lord says: “Let your light shine before men.” He shows how absurd it is to light a lamp, and then to obscure its rays by placing it under a basket. The purpose of ignition is upset if the light is covered. Ah, though how many of us place baskets on the light of our testimony for God–the basket of cruel speech! Of ill-temper! Of a discontented and querulous spirit! These as well as more obvious failings will prevent us from shining out as light in a dark world.

After announcing his high estimation of lovingkindness, David begins to explain why it was so. “Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.” When people catch a glimpse of God’s lovingkindness, they understand that it includes His desire to protect them. Thus, they draw near in faith to be sheltered by His loving care. “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by”

One day we were just hanging around the creek and weren’t really swimming, but decided to play with the rope. We swung out and back a few times. It had rained the day before, so the creek seemed very deep with the water moving rapidly, so we really didn’t want to swim. I took my turn and swung out and back several times, but the ground was very slippery. One of the times when I was swinging back in my foot slipped. I swung back out over the water and couldn’t get back in without dropping.

What kind of legacy do you want to leave when you are gone? I’ve begun to think of this the older I get…what would help my children the most? I plan to leave them a legacy of a thriving business, income, investments and more but what would truly help them even with all of that so they can carry on successfully?

Our parents named us, yes, but God formed us and knew us before the very foundation of the world. How do I know this? God tells us in His Word. God was the one who formed you and knew you before you were even formed, before you were even a thought in your parents’ mind, and even before the very foundation of the earth, God knew you and planned an entire plan for you and your life.
