I had the privilege of spending a week hanging and hiking around Yosemite this past week. I’ve lived in Northern California for 25 years and this was my first trip, and the first thing I realized when I got there was that I was so grateful that I made it there. They get carried away with their feelings, working themselves “into a lather” in their excitement over God. But practicing the restraint of our natural, emotional responses to a God Who manifests Himself to us in so many, wonderful ways is NOT a “sacrifice” He wants us to make. Apparently Jesus Himself – in the face of Satan’s shattering defeat by His’ disciples – went “jumping and leaping and spinning about in rapturous joy!”
