Rest In His Love
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love… (I John 4:16) The scripture above gives us a description of our heaven father; he is love. He is not judgment, as many folks believe; he’s a loving heavenly father. God testified to his love for you in Jeremiah 31:3, when He said, “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee” I love the way the message translation puts it, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love and more love!”
As one who is born again, never find yourself anxious about the future, or pondering over what the future holds. The Lord Jesus said “when the Holy Spirit who is truth, comes, he shall guide you into all truth. He will tell you about the future” (John 16:13 TLB). The man without the Holy Spirit is the one who should be uncertain about his future for he is like an airplane without a pilot, or a ship without a captain, lost at sea, bobbing up and down in the water. Such a person is walking in darkness, without a sense of direction.
Christian Sex TalkI have a confession to make. I’m not a sex “God”, pardon the pun.
It’s All About FaithFaith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. And without faith it is impossible to please God.
Jesus, Your Good Shepherd And DoorJesus said that He is the “door of the sheep”. What did He mean? Well, a sheepfold during Jesus’ time had no door which could be opened and closed. The door of the sheepfold was just an opening. In this kind of sheepfold, after the sheep have entered it, the shepherd would sleep at the entrance.
The native American Indian’s always felt a special oneness with the world around them and also with the creatures who occupied that world. This feeling was not just confined to the surrounding world but also with the world felt inside.
Faith is a Leap on the WordNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1) Faith isn’t a leap in the dark as some people say, but a leap on the word of God. Understanding this simple truth will position you rightly to live triumphantly everyday, and help you judge if you’re actually functioning in faith or not. Those who think faith is a mysterious leap in the dark are always apprehensive and reluctant to take the step that would have led them to victory.
Your Body is the Member of ChristTo most Christians, being a member of the body of Christ means they are joined to the Lord spiritually in a mystically body. But the opening scripture shows us it isn’t just our spirits that are joined to the Body of Christ; our very physical bodies are part of His body! Notice the Apostle Paul in the scripture above didn’t say, “Your body is a member of Christ,” which would have led us to believe he was speaking in a generic sense; he said “your bodies are the members of Christ”, meaning he is referring to our individual bodies. We are joined to the Lord spiritually and physically!
Refuse to DoubtWhen Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Engage in Spiritual ExerciseBut refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profited little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come (I Timothy 4:7-8)The words “Thank you” are two of the most powerful words you can every say. They’re words that convey heartfelt appreciation and gratefulness which when rightly expressed leave in the hearts of the recipient an indelible impression of your sincere gratitude. Sadly, some people find it difficult to say “thank you” even when occasion warrants it. As a Christian, it matters that you express gratitude and manifest a grateful spirit at all times.
God is Not MysteriousThere are folks who say “God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.” To some of them, that expression actually came from the Bible, and that’s not true! To think that way about God is to see Him as one mysterious being, who does what he wants when he wants and how he wants. To them, He is an irresistible personality who is beyond comprehension. But God is not that way; He’s not mysterious at all.
The All Powerful Name of JesusThen Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. (Acts 3:6 – 8).
