We live in a world that demands from us a constant definition of the self. A lack of understanding of our real mission on earth sometimes leads us into a lot of misconceptions and strains us in our conviction. What is it to have conviction? How can we have conviction? There are certain basic things we must learn. We must carry the ability to weigh things clearly and dispassionately.

The Truth the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth. But what? But what is the truth your perception or mine? And why does it even matter? Whose reality is the correct reality?

The crossroads has always been a metaphor for a change in one’s life. In Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Less Traveled”, it stands for a choice of which road one will take in his life. In Robert Johnson’s song “Crossroads Blues” (later redone by Cream as “Crossroads”), the crossroads was where you met the devil to make a deal to realize your dreams. In either case, the crossroads was an important part of one’s life.

Too much emphasis is being placed on outer circumstances. Happiness is a fleeting idea that cannot be maintained for any measurable length of time. Can you possibly understand the motivating factors behind any event?

Time is one aspect of God. Both time and space are a way for God to give form to his creation. There are a myriad of ways for one aspect of God to relate to another, and through such relations God creates physical form.

Yes, God is Truth. In everyday life we deal with information that are true or false, and in communicating with others we also have to discern if somebody is intentionally lying to us. God doesn’t deal so much with statements and facts – God’s truth is creative truth.

Good and evil are human-centric concepts. Good is generally something that feels good, and evil is something that threatens our identities or the core of what we feel is to be human. If we don’t understand something and it is detrimental to us in some way, then we call it ‘evil’.

It is a common belief that God is hidden somewhere inside us, within our good qualities and moral actions. That makes some sense, since if you work on yourself and become the person you wish to be, then through becoming closer to yourself you also become closer to God. A strong backbone, an open mind and a loving heart are always desired.

The Bible was written by humans. Sacred documents of other religions were also written by humans. You could say they were divinely inspired and that these writings attempt to convey that divine inspiration to others, but in general that doesn’t work out all too well. The word of God is something you hear in your heart, and not so much in the confusing words of humans.

‘God’ and ‘light’ are two concepts that are closely intertwined. Any kind of depiction of God usually includes a radiating source of light. Even physical light has interesting properties. On the level of quantum physics, light sometimes behaves as a wave, and sometimes as a particle. This dual nature points to not that something is wrong with light, but that our understanding of it is deficient.

There is a ‘why’ and a ‘how’ to listening to God. If we know why to listen, but don’t know how, then we won’t be able to listen at all.
